With 25 years of experience working in a multitude of healthcare settings and clinical roles, I have at last opened my private practice. WILL THRIVE Psychotherapy and Consultation combines my passion for helping others achieve their best selves with my quest for sharing my learning with other helping professionals. While extensively trained and practiced in delivering Cognitive Behavioural Therapy along with it’s derived therapeutic approaches (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, Behavioural Activation and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), I strive to keep a person-centred focus at the heart of my practice.
Having achieved a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and registered as a Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario along with over 2 decades of experience, I bring a curated, evidenced-based and empathic approach to treating mood related distress, addiction disorders, relationship difficulties and trauma. My role as a workshop facilitator for professionally accredited courses and as a presenter for community, national and media-based audiences, has greatly enriched my clinical practice.
I have an abundance of gratitude for the family I have raised in Wellington County and adore my Labrador Retrievers as much as the people I surround myself with. I find solace in music and nature and, at times, can be a bit competitive when I’m playing sports and games.
As a human being and Therapist, I understand how difficult it can be to ask for help and to acknowledge when things are no longer working. I provide a safe, supportive and productive space to work collaboratively with my clients in order to understand a problem from different viewpoints, and to develop healthier ways of coping.
